DIY Super flashlight modification

While it is true that this flashlight is brighter, the batteries are expensive and the bulb probably lasts less than 10 hours. What they are doing is putting a lot more voltage into the bulb than it expects, and that: a) makes the bulb brighter but b) shortens its life by overheating it.
